I love jewelry. Always have, always will. I like bling bling as well as costume jewelry. My three favorite places to shop for jewelry are Anthropologie, Francesca’s and Lisa Leonard online. Anthropologie has the most amazing items of all time. If I could live in one of their stores, I would. If I could work for that company, I would. I wouldn’t get a paycheck, but paying me in trinkets is fine. It might not be fine with Mike. Oh well, back to my obsession with Anthro. Their items are unique and everytime I carry a handbag from there or break out my gorgeous, buttery, creamy wallet that is from their 2011 spring collection or wear one of their statement pieces of jewelry, I get many compliments. Except the one time when I was actually rendered speechless and this is a very rare occasion. I don’t do well with rude people. I usually have a few choice words for them if I’m out in public. But, I was at work and being the professional I am, I just walked away and laughed at the imbecile. The imbecile was a pharmacist who thought she was better than everyone else but had such an ugly personality that no one wanted to work with her or be around her. She had no mental filter and would say really horrible things to customers as well as co-workers. She eventually was fired so I had the last laugh but she was rude. One day, I wore a classic, white button down blouse and had my new birthday present necklace from my mama on. It was a chunky gold chain with hand sewn flower rosettes and charms…totally cute. She was passing me by the copier and said, “Oh, did you make that necklace at some sort of craft camp”? in her snotty monotone voice. I still love that necklace and everytime I wear it I think of that dumb girl.
No fun stories about Francesca’s. Love, love, love this store. When I worked at West County mall, Francesca’s was located right across from the store I managed. I would go in there a few times a week to
browse shop. The sales girls all knew me and because I worked at the mall, I got a discount. I miss that discount something fierce now. Their handbags are really one of a kind as well and normally only get a couple of each style. You need to buy it when you see it. That’s a good motto to live by. I like it. I’m going to use it. Their costume jewelry was a quarter the price of Anthro, so I could really stock up and not feel buyer’s remorse.
Last but not least is a favorite online store. The jewelry maker is Lisa Leonard and she is absolutely fabulous. Every time I order from her, the items come packaged in cute bags and ribbon. Presentation is everything. Her prices are very reasonable and her selection is excellent. She also makes custom orders.
With all of this
talk typing of jewelry I feel the need to shop. Online stores, here I come!
The two necklaces up top are from Lisa Leonard @ lisaleonardonline.com. The bottom middle necklace is from Francesca’s. The bottom two are from Anthropologie. Wish list.
